June was my sons last month of Pre-K and I was busy soaking up every last minute of him being a preschooler. July was our "summer break" from school. In the last three weeks my daughter started Preschool and my son started Kindergarten! So I've been stressing, trying not to cry and busy finding a new sense of "normal".
If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram then you know that I've still been working out and cooking up a storm....I just haven't been blogging about it. Partly because I've been changing some things about the way that I eat and train, and I needed to really have a few months under my belt before going into greater detail about the changes that I've made. The biggest changes training wise would really be lifting heavier and cutting back on cardio. Waaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy back. Like...twice a week for 15 minutes. I know that sounds like nothing, but it's a really intense 15 minutes ;) As far as food goes, I am eating a lot of the same foods as before. The main change is that I am tracking my macros (protein, carbs & fats) as well as my calorie and fiber intake. This allows for more flexibility day to day (as opposed to strict "clean" eating 90% of the time with regular "cheat meals". I'll go into my reasons behind making these changes in future posts).
I've also decided to write more about my life outside of fitness...mainly my "mom/wife life". I know that might not be of interest to everyone, but it's a HUGE part of who I am. Feel free to skip over any crazy mom rants you can't identify with ;)
I feel like I am just on the verge of finding a good balance. Life is constantly changing and throwing me for a loop, but I adjust...and readjust...and tweak...and adjust again until I find that happy place.
